What is an ATF EFT FILE
ATF Electronic Forms Transfer (EFT) is the official electronic submission system used by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for processing National Firearms Act (NFA) applications. This modern system provides faster processing and better tracking than traditional paper submissions.
Our NFA fingerprinting services use advanced LiveScan technology to capture high-quality digital fingerprints for ATF Form 1 and Form 4 submissions. Whether you're applying for a suppressor, short-barreled rifle (SBR), short-barreled shotgun (SBS), or other NFA items, our ATF-compliant electronic fingerprinting ensures your application meets all Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives requirements. Gun trust applicants can have multiple responsible persons fingerprinted at the same appointment.

NFA Tax Stamp Update: What It Means for Your
ATF-EFT Fingerprints
Effective January 1, 2026, the $200 federal NFA tax stamp fee has been eliminated for most NFA items under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act extension. While this is great news for firearms enthusiasts and collectors, one important requirement remains unchanged: ATF-EFT electronic fingerprinting is still required for all NFA applications.
What changed on January 1, 2026:
-
The $200 tax stamp fee is no longer required for most NFA items
-
Processing times may be faster with reduced application volume
-
More people are expected to apply for NFA items due to eliminated cost barriers
What did NOT change:
-
Electronic fingerprint submission (ATF-EFT) is still mandatory
-
ATF Form 1 and Form 4 still require compliant fingerprint files
-
Background checks are still required for all applicants
-
Gun trust responsible persons still each need individual EFT files
