Appointments are recommended - book online at abqfingerprinting.com or call toll-free 877-340-8822 (select option 3). Walk-ins are welcome at most locations. A QR code is available on-site at satellite locations to book and pay from your smartphone.

A valid government-issued photo ID: driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID.

Payment is made online when booking at all satellite locations. Our main Albuquerque location also accepts cash and in-person payment on-site.

No. All fingerprinting uses certified LiveScan digital capture - no ink, no smudging, and a rejection rate under 1%.

ABQ Fingerprinting handles federal and out-of-state fingerprinting (FD-258, FBI checks, ATF-EFT, FDLE). IdentoGO by IDEMIA handles NM state licensing (nursing, real estate, CCW, contractors).

The FD-258 is the standard federal fingerprint card used by the FBI and most federal agencies, licensing boards, and professional organizations. Required for federal employment, immigration, out-of-state licenses, adoption, and many background checks.

Digitally printed. LiveScan captures prints electronically and prints them onto official FD-258 card stock, which is cleaner and more accurate than ink rolling, with a rejection rate under 1%.

Our standard FD-258 service includes two cards, protective chipboard backing, and a mailing envelope, everything you need to send your cards to the requesting agency. If more than two cards are required, add additional cards to your cart when selecting the Fingerprint Cards service during online checkout. Requirements vary by agency, so confirm with your requesting agency before your appointment. Many clients bring their own FD-258 cards from their requesting agency. We inspect them on arrival - undamaged cards in good condition can be used. Bent or damaged cards will be replaced with ours.

Specialized cards for specific federal applications. The SF-87 is used for suitability investigations and security clearances. The FD-1164 is used for specific DOJ submissions. Both are available at all ABQ Fingerprinting locations.

Federal employment and contractors, USCIS immigration, international adoption, foreign visa applications, out-of-state professional licenses, firearms rights restoration (18 USC 925(c)), and personal record review.

Yes. Federal firearms rights restoration under 18 U.S.C. § 925(c) requires an application to the ATF for relief from federal firearms disabilities. Certified FD-258 fingerprint cards are required as part of that application package. ABQ Fingerprinting produces certified FD-258 cards at all six New Mexico locations. Important note: Congress has defunded the ATF's ability to act on individual § 925(c) petitions since 1992 - applicants whose relief is denied may pursue the matter in federal court.

Yes. ABQ Fingerprinting produces professional Child Safety ID cards at all six New Mexico locations. The front of the card captures your child's fingerprints and photo. The back includes space for medical information, emergency contacts, and personal identification details, a critical reference tool for parents in the event of an emergency. Cards are digitally captured and printed on-site. Most appointments are completed in under 15 minutes. 

Your official federal criminal history record compiled by the FBI's CJIS Division. Authorized under DOJ Order 556-73 (28 CFR 16.30-16.34) as a personal records request - results go directly to you, not an employer or agency.

Electronic submissions via our FBI-approved channeler: results in 24-48 hours as a secure PDF to your email. If you choose to mail your FD-258 card directly to FBI CJIS yourself instead of using our electronic channeler, your report will be mailed back to you and can take 6-8 weeks or longer to arrive.

Yes. ABQ Fingerprinting is a federally authorized FBI channeling provider (DO 556-73 via an FBI-approved channeler) and can assist with fingerprinting for a wide range of immigration applications. We provide physical FD-258 fingerprint cards, printed on-site the same day, and electronic FBI Identity History Summary reports with results in 24-48 hours, depending on what your immigration attorney or USCIS requires.

These are two different fingerprint-based services - your immigration attorney or USCIS will specify which is required. FD-258 Fingerprint Cards are physical cards digitally captured and printed on-site, submitted directly to USCIS or your attorney by mail, standard for many USCIS applications including adjustment of status and naturalization processed through Application Support Centers (ASCs). An FBI Identity History Summary (DO 556-73) is an electronic submission that returns your official FBI background check as a PDF within 24-48 hours, used for personal review and can be provided to your attorney, and is required for certain immigration proceedings, international applications, and apostille processing.

As of April 27, 2026, USCIS implemented a new enhanced FBI vetting process affecting pending immigration applications including adjustment of status, green card, naturalization, and asylum. If your immigration attorney has advised you to obtain an FBI background check while your case is pending, ABQ Fingerprinting can help. We provide FBI Identity History Summary reports via electronic submission (DO 556-73 via an FBI-approved channeler) with results typically available within 24-48 hours. Green card and adjustment of status (Form I-485) applications typically require biometrics collected at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC). However, your immigration attorney may also advise you to obtain an FBI Identity History Summary for personal review, especially during periods of processing delays or enhanced vetting. ABQ Fingerprinting provides FBI Identity History Summary reports via DO 556-73 (results in 24-48 hours) and FD-258 fingerprint cards at all six New Mexico locations. Naturalization (Form N-400) biometrics are typically collected at a USCIS Application Support Center. Your immigration attorney may also request an FBI Identity History Summary for your case file. ABQ Fingerprinting is rolling out direct delivery through the FBI's Electronic Departmental Order (eDO) system, which will allow your FBI Identity History Summary PDF to be delivered directly to your attorney's email with a signed attorney release letter on their letterhead. Yes. ABQ Fingerprinting provides FD-258 fingerprint cards and FBI Identity History Summary reports required for Indian Health Service (IHS) employment and credentialing. Our Farmington and Taos locations are particularly well-positioned to serve healthcare professionals working with tribal communities across the Four Corners region and northern New Mexico.

IHS employment typically requires FD-258 fingerprint cards submitted as part of the federal background check process. Some positions may also require an FBI Identity History Summary via electronic submission. Your IHS Human Resources office will specify which is required. ABQ Fingerprinting provides both services at all six locations, with same-day card printing and electronic results in 24-48 hours.

Taos (9 to 5 Ship and Print, 710 Paseo del Pueblo Sur) serves northern New Mexico including Taos Pueblo and surrounding northern pueblos. Travel nurses typically need FD-258 fingerprint cards for out-of-state licensing boards and hospital credentialing. Requirements vary by state and employer - your staffing agency or licensing board will specify the card type and submission address. ATF-EFT (Electronic Fingerprint Transmission) is required for ATF NFA applications: Form 4 (transfer) and Form 1 (making) for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, machine guns, and other NFA-regulated items.

If denied or delayed during a firearms purchase NICS check, you can appeal to the FBI. A NICS appeal requires certified FD-258 cards submitted to the FBI NICS Section. ABQ Fingerprinting can produce those cards at all six locations.

The FBI VAF assigns a unique PIN to individuals wrongly delayed or denied during NICS checks. Requires certified FD-258 cards, available at all six ABQ Fingerprinting locations.

FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) LiveScan is required for Florida professional licensing and background check submissions. ABQ Fingerprinting is an FDLE Authorized Vendor - we can capture and submit Florida LiveScan from any of our six New Mexico locations. Yes. Florida residents who relocated to NM, or NM residents seeking Florida licenses, can have FDLE LiveScan submitted from any of our six NM locations. Book online at abqfingerprinting.com with your ORI number ready

Nursing and healthcare, teaching and education, real estate, social work, law enforcement, childcare and DCF, financial services, and insurance licensing. Your agency will provide an ORI number, which is required when booking your appointment. If you've already booked, there's no need to bring it separately.

A valid photo ID at your appointment, and your Florida agency's ORI number when booking online.

The Florida Department of Financial Services (insurance licensing) is contracted with IdentoGO by IDEMIA for fingerprint submissions. If your licensing board directs you to IdentoGO, you must use that service. For all other FDLE submissions, ABQ Fingerprinting submits directly as an FDLE Authorized Vendor.

Yes. ABQ Fingerprinting submits AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration) Level 2 background checks for Florida healthcare workers, nurses, and childcare professionals from all six New Mexico locations. As an authorized FDLE vendor, we submit electronically directly to FDLE and AHCA. Results typically available within 3-5 business days. Have your ORI number ready when booking online.

No. ABQ Fingerprinting is unable to perform LiveScan or fingerprint cards for Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License applications. The State of Florida requires these applicants to be fingerprinted at a local law enforcement agency, a Division of Licensing regional office, or an approved tax collector location.

New Mexico state professional licensing fingerprinting is handled exclusively by IdentoGO by IDEMIA.

NM CCW requires IdentoGO by IDEMIA (NM DPS). If denied or delayed in a NICS check, ABQ Fingerprinting can assist with NICS appeal fingerprinting.

An ORI (Originating Agency Identifier) tells the system where to route your results. IdentoGO assigns the ORI for NM state licensing. For federal or out-of-state submissions, your agency provides it.
